The chest measurement of your dog, or the girth, is the first measurement you’ll need to take. This can be taken by placing the measuring tape around the widest part of your dog’s torso, usually just behind the front legs.

Staffy loved it, it's great material and super comfortable for daily walks. He's a 9 years old amstaff gentleman with 25kg, very active and likes to pull when he meets his friends in the park. I only use the back ring and it does its job when he pulls hard.

GAME CANGER! As a life-long rescuer of big dogs, this Hurricane harness has really surprised me. It genuinely makes a HUGE difference interms of pulling. It is made of excellent, robust material and is evidently very comfortable for Maggie (apbt- we live in Madrid where her breed is not banned.) How to put on a dog harness

Start by unbuckling the harness and having your dog sit or stand still next to you. Slip the harness over their head and pull the straps underneath their tummy. Or, if you have a step-in harness, place it on the floor and help your dog place their feet correctly, before pulling it up over their back. What is the best dog harness?

The best dog harness really depends on the breed, size, and activity level of your dog. How to measure a harness for a dog

To measure your dog for a harness, grab a measuring tape and wrap it around the widest part of their ribcage, then measure their neck at the base (where the collar sits and not in the middle of the neck). Make sure that the measurements aren’t too tight, but are secure enough that the harness won’t slip off if your dog pulls. 

If you have the harness already, try it on your dog and make sure you can fit two fingers between the harness and their body. Finally, monitor your dog’s behaviour - if they’re showing signs of discomfort or walking awkwardly, it may need adjusting more to suit your dog.
