When customising the Combat Range, the adjuster may cover part of the text. The best way to help avoid this is to choose the smallest size which will fit your dog; the adjuster will then be located at the end of the collar away from the name.

The chest measurement of your dog, or the girth, is the first measurement you’ll need to take. This can be taken by placing the measuring tape around the widest part of your dog’s torso, usually just behind the front legs.

The next measurement should be taken around the lower part of your dog’s neck, simply measure the widest part at the base of the neck as this is where the harness is going to sit. This size chart is based on min-max measurements.

An amazing harness! Romi is a 2-year-old Spanish Mastiff who weighs 80 kg. He is learning to regulate his emotions and sometimes loses control when another dog approaches him. Since we got this harness, I can walk him without fear of him losing control because, even though he weighs 20 kg more than I do, the front ring makes him easy to handle with hardly any effort. This is a fantastic harness. The quality is absolutely amazing, very strong thick material well put together. The three D rings are thick and very sturdy. There is a soft material on the inside of the straps for comfort. We use 2 leashes one for the front to control pulling and another on the top back ring. I will be ordering the matching double leash which seems to be better than using 2 separate leashes. This harness has definitely helped with our pups pulling. Definitely worth the money and the wait for it's arrival. I am very happy with my purchase.

Hallo, ein dickes Lob geht da an euch!!! Ein super schickes Produkt. Ich habe eine Staffordshire Terrier Hündin, an ihr sieht es doch sehr wuchtig aus, vor allem am Hals, da wäre eine Zwischengröße angebracht. Wenn ihr das das gleiche Geschirr, mit Zwischengröße am Hals und vielleicht einen halben cm schmaler anbietet, dann sind wir auf jeden Fall dabei nochmal zu kaufen.👍👍👍

I’ve ordered from BullyBillows multiple times before and they never disappoint! Koda (my dog) has always found a way previously to ruin every collar, harness and leash but the quality of these products is outstanding. I love how the harness is adjustable from the belly strap and the two front straps as he gets fluffier/chubbier in the winter and I have to make things bigger for him. But as I’ve said previously these products are of such high quality they’ll last years and if get muddy or dirty are so easy to wash which is always a bonus. Ps, I ordered the largest size my dogs stomach is a 82cm he’s quite large

FAQs

How to put on a dog harness

Start by unbuckling the harness and having your dog sit or stand still next to you. Slip the harness over their head and pull the straps underneath their tummy. Or, if you have a step-in harness, place it on the floor and help your dog place their feet correctly, before pulling it up over their back. Fasten it up securely, making sure it’s not too tight or too loose, and adjust accordingly.

What is the best dog harness?

The best dog harness really depends on the breed, size, and activity level of your dog. The comfortable Hurricane Harness features a useful handle and is super lightweight, while the Premium Harness is a great all-rounder for any dog. The traditional slip-on harnesses offer quick and easy fitting, while step-in harnesses might be better for dogs that dislike harnesses going over their head. And if your dog pulls, the TRI-Harness helps with training to prevent excessive pulling on the lead. You can read more in our Dog Harness Buying Guide. All of our harnesses are lined with Neoprene which is soft and helps avoid harsh burns unlike other brands.

How to measure a harness for a dog

To measure your dog for a harness, grab a measuring tape and wrap it around the widest part of their ribcage, then measure their neck at the base (where the collar sits and not in the middle of the neck). Make sure that the measurements aren’t too tight, but are secure enough that the harness won’t slip off if your dog pulls. 

If you have the harness already, try it on your dog and make sure you can fit two fingers between the harness and their body. Finally, monitor your dog’s behaviour - if they’re showing signs of discomfort or walking awkwardly, it may need adjusting more to suit your dog.

How to use a dog harness correctly

To ensure you’re using your dog harness correctly, you need to make sure it’s properly fitted. This means that it’s tight enough to prevent the harness moving, but loose enough to allow your pooch to move comfortably. Attach your lead to your chosen D-ring, whether that’s on their back or their chest, and get ready for your adventure!
