The neck measurement should be taken around the lower part of your dog’s neck, simply measure the widest part at the base of the neck as this is where the collar is going to sit. This size chart is based on min-max measurements.

This 5cm width collar is suitable for slightly larger breeds such as large Staffies, Huskeys, German Shepherds, Rottweilers, Cane Corso's and upwards. If your dog is smaller than these breeds, please see our 4cm and 2.5cm collar versions.

Before we used other brand which our energetic Newfoundlander (+-65 kg) broke within a couple of days. Collars snapped, metal rings broke, etc. With this one he can run, jump and we can correct him with confidence. This collar is very sturdy but flexible and the metal clip is simple yet very strong. Would recommend!

I bought this collar for my English Bulldog. Because he has a lot of loose skin around his neck, he could easily slip out of his old collar. Since he becomes anxious when wearing a harness, we decided to try the 5 cm wide collar. It fits perfectly. The dog is very comfortable wearing it and he cannot slip out of it. I would definitely recommend this to anyone who owns an English Bulldog.

This is our second BullyBillows set. We loved the first combat collar and the double ended training leash so much, we had to get another set in black. We've had the first set for almost two years now and it's still in use and in good condition. It's outlived all the other collars and leashes, doesn't rust and is so really comfortable for both us and the dog. I recommend it especially for big and strong dogs, this is heavy duty gear that you can rely on.

Bruno is 6 months old and I wanted a thick, strong collar that would last as he grows (he already has a 21inch neck). I'm so happy with it and he responds so much better when walking than with a harness or his old narrow collar. The quality is outstanding and I know it will last. These collars fit our 3 staffy X bullys really well! The quality is amazing, love that the clasps on the collars are super easy to use, which makes putting them on and taking them off quick, but doesn’t compromise how secure they are. FAQs

What is the best dog collar?

The best dog collar really depends on the breed, size and activity level of your dog. Slip-on collars are great to assist training your dog that pulls, whereas a Combat collar is perfect for everyday use and comes in various thicknesses, from 2.5cm for smaller breeds to 5cm for XL breeds. How tight should a dog collar be?

Similar to harnesses, a dog collar should be snug but not too tight. We’d recommend being able to fit two fingers between the collar and your dog’s neck - if you can fit more than two fingers, the collar may be too loose and could slip off. If you can’t fit two fingers, it might be too tight for your dog causing discomfort and potentially breathing difficulties.

Do dogs have to wear collars?

It’s a legal requirement for dogs to wear collars with ID tags when in public. The tag needs to display your name and address to help reunite you and your dog if they ever get lost. We know that a lot of owners prefer using harnesses, but a collar and ID tag are essential to comply with UK law when you’re out in public, so make sure you’ve got both on if needs be.

How do you measure a dog collar?

To measure a dog collar, wrap a flexible measuring tape around the base (the lower sections) of your dog’s neck whilst leaving enough room to fit two fingers in between. A lot of collars are adjustable, which is ideal for a puppy as you can simply extend the collar as they grow into it.
